How it Works
Every project is different, and how it works is going to depend on your goals. However, there’s a general process that I follow for large documentation projects, so here’s an example of how it might go:
- You get in touch with me using my contact form. I’ll get back to you pretty quick.
- We’ll have a chat about what you need. If you’re not sure, I can do a review of your product along with your current documentation. I’ll work through the docs to set up your product. When I’m done you’ll get a report of any issues, and a list of recommendations.
- If you decide to go ahead with a documentation project, we’ll come up with a list of documents.
- Writing time!
- When the writing is done we’ll review everything together and when you’re happy it’ll go live on your website.
We’ll also spend time exploring the best way to present your documentation, and how we can make it easier for your users to achieve what they need within the user interface. When it’s done, I’m happy to discuss an ongoing retainer to keep your documentation updated.
