Hello geek! Welcome to my About page. Words for WP is mostly me – Siobhan, based in the UK, working globally. If you’re wondering what the “WP” in Words for WP stands for then you should probably leave; before you do, it stands for WordPress (not wordpress, thx), the CMS that powers around 17% of the web.
Preliminaries out of the way, you might be wondering what it is that I do. Let’s start with what I don’t do. I don’t write code. Or I do, sometimes, but it’s horrible.
Some Most people would say that I’m doing_it_wrong. So don’t email me and ask me to write you an epic Plugin, or knock up an awesome Theme, because I might be tempted to say yes just to teach you a lesson.
What I’m good at (my secret super-power, if you will) is taking complex information that I have no clue about, extracting information out of you, learning about what your product does, and making it understandable to anyone. Don’t believe me? Check out some of my work, or read through my posts on Smashing Magazine.
I suppose what I am is a translation machine for nerds; put in complex information, human-readable content comes out. Which, if you’ve read this far, you probably need. Because, let’s face it, WordPress is made by geeks, but it’s used by humans. Humans don’t understand your geek-speak. I can help you.
